Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she attended the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. As early as age ten, she took part as the lead in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It broke all records in the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of 2001. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly the younger actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma's performance was recognized and won five awards later for the film.
