Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico, was born to a music-loving family. Growing up she was influenced by classical music, boleros and the traditional romantic, ranchero, as well as romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos and the dramatic and opera performances. She was taught by her mother to sing, but she began more intensive vocal training through Flavio Belcerra at 16 when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera singer and tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many chamber and opera choirs. She was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. As a local performer and instructor the passion for music and art keeps her engaged in a wide range of initiatives. Ana has also been a former part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly in the younger generations, for keeping this music vibrant.
